About Polartec

Polartec is the premium provider of innovative and sustainable textile solutions for outdoor apparel. The fleece that hangs in EVERY persons closet was pioneered by Polartec in 1981, and Polartec engineers continue to advance the science of fabric. Polartec fabrics are used by nearly every major performance and lifestyle brand worldwide and you already own something that they’ve produced. They continue to be boldly innovative and are working hard to solve many of the sustainability problems common to synthetic textiles.

The Project

We partnered with Canadian oudtoor-gear design agency blurr to co-develop a product story for Polartec. The client wanted to imagine an out-there application for some of their new, cutting-edge fabric technologies. The goal was to create marketing storylines for B2B materials sales and possibly small capsule collections to sell D2C as a way to bring the brand into greater focus for consumers.

We created the fictional Spartacus Terra, a deep-space innovation lab for cold-weather fabric testing and product ideation. Four categories of essential lifestyle and work apparel are developed.
