About TDA Global Cycling
TDA Global Cycling is the brainchild of Henry Gold. Henry is a documentary filmmaker, bikes-not-cars evangelist, and the founder of Canada-based, Africa-focused NGO Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief. 20 years ago he had the absurd idea to organize a bike race from Cairo, Egypt, to Capetown, South Africa. He managed to convince 31 people to join him, and remarkably, despite the hardships, the unpredictability and the five-month duration, everyone LOVED it.
TDA (Tour D’Afrique) Global Cycling grew from there and now provides supported but unguided bicycle tours all around the World. Cyclists can ride for a week, or bite into one of the colossal cross-continental tours. We created a tagline for TDA – Life Changing Bicycle Adventures. Indeed!
The Project
TDA came to us with a request to help out with a website update that needed a complex blend of Wordpress and Ruby On Rails. While we were under the hood with backend things, it became apparent that bigger things were in flux at TDA. This led to a high-level review of how the business had evolved from its wild and rugged origins to a more accessible resource for a broader client base.
We provided a set of consumer personas, a refreshed brand ID and standards, as well as the website and other digital assets. We’ve also developed several print ads, tradeshow environments and banners and jerseys to celebrate each completed tour.

We updated the existing TDA logo to align with new typefaces and to refine the illustration.
